My fondest memory of Cory Aquino was this one…..In September 1986, former Philippine President Corazon Aquino delivered a speech before a joint session of the United States Congress which was interrupted by applause several times, and which then U.S. House Speaker Tip O’Neill hailed as “the finest speech I’ve ever heard in my 34 years in Congress.” Above the din of cheering officials, Senate Majority Leader Robert Dole then said to Mrs. Aquino, “Cory, you hit a home run.” Without missing a beat, Aquino smiled and shot back: “I hope the bases were loaded”…..

We will surely miss her…..our guiding light….our hope for freedom and democracy….

How do you read a newspaper? Well as for me I try to choose only what I need to read. Ofcourse there are some bad news and good news in a newspaper and we can’t help but to view the bad news as well yet I always look for the good news first before reading the bad news^^I just find it so unfair when people sensationalize the news and it’s always been that way.

I thought about this because I wonder why we love to criticize or ostracize people. Why do we never care about other people’s feelings just to make our news the best news in the world. Why do we always compete with one another. “Our nation is better than your nation. Our people are better than your people”. I just wonder why we can’t be fair with each other.

We all have our own hidden agenda. We don’t do things out of love instead we do things only for our selfish interests. That’s why we try to pull each other down instead of promoting what’s best for each other.

Love your neighbor as our Father says. Forget our hidden agenda. Do things out of love not out of selfishness.

Been adjusting to our new management in school….also there are so many plans opened during our faculty meeting….Some may take effect by next year or some might materialize sooner coz I see our school head’s  ”seriousness” on those matters we discussed during the meeting….

At first I wasn’t sure if my boss knew the saying”first impressions last” coz during the turnover ceremony we waited for him to come at 2 pm. but he came to school almost  5pm already…..The reason was some of our superiors decided to put him on the last spot among those they endorsed as new school heads because he needed to attend to them and drive them as they visit schools for some turnover ceremonies….Our point is he was being abused for his kindness whereas he needed to attend to an important occasion…..The next day we were supposed to have our first faculty meeting at 1pm so we did not hold classes in the afternoon…..but he did not show up….his reason was a principal asked him to accompany her in an important event….So he called us to just resume our meeting the next day at 9am during class hours and we will just give our students somethings to work on while the meeting is in progress…..I had a feeling that our new boss still can’t give up some of his responsibilities while he was still a teacher….now that he is a school head already he should make some adjustments on how to deal with his subordinates and superiors as well….

So the next morning he came to school with some breakfast for us as some kind of a “bribe” I guess for he knew he needed to make up for those actions he had done lately…..and finally held our first faculty meeting…..It’s really quite difficult if you have a school head who isn’t focused yet on the things he needed to do…..if he has no direction the school will have no direction as well…..So I’m hoping for the new boss to be a better school head for the sake of our children and the school itself….

One of the great actresses we have in the Philippines is Angel Locsin…..She has a wholesome image and a great personality as well…..She loves being a Filipino and because of that we are truly proud of her….I also love the way she handles herself in public….courteous, humble, and sincere….

Just recently she went to Mindanao (home of some Muslim rebels) regardless of fears of being kidnapped there just to help her kababayans who are suffering from poverty in that place…..She said there’s nothing to fear as long as we’re sincere in dealing with our kababayans whether you are a Christian or a Muslim……She said we are all Filipinos….We must learn to respect and love one another…..Angel has been a great endorser, an actress, yet for me her real influence comes from her sincerity and her being a true Filipino, a true kababayan…..She’s truly an angel in our eyes…..

For the past three days I’ve been working on some school papers including some personal documents that I had lost three weeks ago…..Now I am almost done with them but there will be more to submit for the coming days….As we finished with the old reports new ones are on the way^^…..There’s no time to procrastinate I guess^^…..Well maybe proper time management will do…..

Tomorrow we’ll be rehearsing for my co-teacher’s 65th bday…..Oh she is just so groovy…..She wanted to see us do something really special for her on her bday…..This old lady really never gets old actually…..Always young at heart…..Hope I could be like her when I’m already 65^^…..

I just felt like in order to cope with the pressures that come our way everyday……let’s always wear smile on our faces…..You’ll find yourself becoming frustrated if you deal with your problems too seriuosly^^…..Be a softee…..you can’t tame your problems or others if you yourself is coming out too strong…..It’s like “a plant can stand still even in a soft soil”……it will just depend on how you nurture it….how you take care of it…..in a nice and caring manner…..

These past days I was thinking about those people who keep on coming to school just to share what they have to our children…..For the past years we have been blessed with so many gov’t and even non- governmental organizations who had given financial or moral support to our school children…..There were even those who just happen to visit the school only once yet had left something to remember for the kids….There are still so many good people on earth^^…..

Way back there was an old man who played Santa to our kids…..At first some of us even doubted his intention…..We do not even know the man and he offered his chocolates to all of us…..He even asked us to let him distribute the candies himself…..Yes, he wasn’t fake….the candies were fresh…..but still his intention to play Santa was doubted at first…..I just felt like no matter how good your intention is to help others or show goodness to them there are still people who would doubt and won’t easily believe those  good intentions you might have….I remember someone who told me….”My father was a soldier…..He told me that I should always consider those people who I do not know yet as my enemy…..and always take extra care in my dealings with other people”….That’s how we look at other people at times isn’t it?….But the good intentions will never ever stop and will continue to pour in…..A retired principal came in a year later giving great books, maps, etc.  to our school children…..Then the most giving of all  is Sister Vicky….our catechist ….She is just so exceptional…..a living saint I guess…..She gives her heart to the kids…..to us…..She has a big big heart….She touches our hearts so that we could touch other people’s hearts as well…..That’s what makes her different from the rest……

Felt so sad today coz my boss is leaving us on July 6th….The new haedteacher will report on the 6th as well….I’m going to miss my old boss…..She has been so kind to me and to my co-workers……She didn’t wanna leave us but she has no option…..I’ll miss you Mam and thank you ^^…..To my new boss….hope he’ll be a good leader as well…..Hope we could really work well for the sake of our students…..not for our own interests only…..really hoping for that….

Oh so many things had happened these past few days…..I was like shocked on some of them…..First Ate Alice my co- teacher and our club president had announced that she will be leaving the service to work in Australia and even get married there by next year….It was really a surprise coz she has been a loyal member of the old maids’ society hehe^^….Next we have another co- worker Weng who is scheduled this year to go to the US to teach there….Ate Lau, Tita Ems, Tita Zen , Fridz all of them are working on their papers to leave the service…to leave the Philippines…..OMG….everybody is leaving!!!!….Then came Michael Jackson’s death…..OMG!!!…..Surprise! Surprise!…..Yes, life is full of surprises…..Nothing is permanent in this world…..People and things would come and go…..Like if someone would go today a new baby will be born tomorrow…..If I or my co -teachers would go,  there would be others who would take our place…..

We move to other places to find ourselves…. and when we’re already tired God would tell us to just look into our hearts to see that what we’re searching for in a lifetime is just right there in our precious hearts….
